Lazaro Cardenas Elementary School in Chicago was recently awarded an Academic Improvement Award from the Illinois State Board of Education. Cardenas was one of only 125 schools in the entire state to receive the award for achieving substantial gains over a one- to two-year period.
Principal Jeremy Feiwell thanked teachers and staff for their hard work, commitment, drive, and energy that supported students in succeeding on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT), and noted that Cardenas’ work with CLI “is a strong example of a professional collaboration between quality teachers and a successful organization with both focused on providing exemplary balanced literacy instruction in primary classrooms.” Click here to see Cardenas’ ISAT report card.
