Today, our Team Spotlight series highlights our Philadelphia Regional Manager, Francesca Cerabino. Francesca works every day to make a difference in the lives of teachers and students across the region. We sat down with Francesca to learn more about her experience at CLI and what motivates her every day. Check out her answers below:

Q: What attracted you to working at CLI?

A: I was attracted to CLI because CLI’s mission alights with my values both personally and professionally. Prior to joining CLI, I was looking for the opportunity to utilize and grow my literacy expertise, lead by example, practice my belief that all teachers have the ability to grow and improve their literacy expertise and successful relationships are the necessary building blocks for growth and sustainability. CLI has afforded me with this opportunity to fulfill this in my roles as a coach, mentor, facilitator and manager.

Q: What are some of your key duties at CLI? What aspect of the role do you enjoy the most?

A: My key duties is to oversee the entire ELS project and ensure the health of the project remains strong, positive and has the impact for our students. I work closely with many of the stakeholders to support the mission. The aspect of the role I enjoy the most is working with the Supervisors. I enjoy collaborating with them and supporting our coaches together. The support we provide our coaches is imperative to the support they provide teachers which in turn impacts our students growth. That is where my heart is ... for the students!

Q: What advice would you give a prospective Literacy Coach?

A: Working as a literacy coach is the most empowering job you will ever have . You will have the opportunity to impact so many lives in so many different ways. We are actively looking for literacy coaches to join our team and make a difference in our students lives. The advice I would give is to always stay rooted in strong relationships. Relationships are the key to all learning. Without relationships no significant learning can occur.

Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

A: Most people don’t know that I was shy as a child and I still am when placed in new environments. I am quiet when I am in new environments until I get comfortable and get to know the people around me.
