Current Focus & Need

By investing EITC credits with CLI, an approved EITC Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) for 2022-2023, you can help improve the reading achievement of over 800 K through 3rd grade Philadelphia students. CLI will earmark your 2022-2023 EITC tax credits to deliver its validated program of training and coaching in effective practices for early literacy instruction, plus high-quality, classroom literacy materials, to:
  • Charter Elementary Schools
  • K‐2nd grade teachers
  • Literacy Support Teachers
  • Assistant Principals for Instruction
  • School Principals
Reading proficiency by 3rd grade is the most important predictor of high school graduation, career success, and life outcomes. CLI provides the necessary expertise and proven strategies needed for caregivers and teachers to create learning experiences that reach all students and drive positive outcomes.
When children have access to excellent instruction and caregivers have tools to support their children at home, they become part of a learning environment that fosters equity and joy in learning and invites them to expand their view of the world through literature. Such an environment celebrates, encourages, and supports all children in meeting and exceeding their fullest potential.
