A Remarkable Visit from Commissioner Kershaw and Representative Garlick in Massachusetts

Commissioner Amy Kershaw of the Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) and State Representative Denise Garlick recently embarked on a meaningful visit to a CLI- supported center, Temple Beth Shalom in Massachusetts. Intrigued by our approach to advancing high-quality early childhood programming, they immersed themselves in our practices to gain firsthand insight.

The day commenced with engaging catalytic leadership storytelling, unveiling the transformative journey of the TBS leadership team. From pivotal coaching moments to the seamless adoption of our core service model, every facet was explored. A touching highlight ensued as a parent shared anecdotes of observing positive changes in their child, emphasizing the tangible impact of our efforts. With a viewing lens connected to the strategic plan guiding our path, we embarked on enlightening learning walks, delving into classrooms to witness our leadership principles and instructional practices in action. Returning for debrief, we engaged in reflective discussions, analyzing evidence of how site leadership changes translate into enhanced classroom practices. The visit culminated in dialogues about high-level policies crucial for statewide implementation.
